With Ukrainian airspace closed due to the war, we drove in from Poland. I was there to document The Center for Mind-Body Medicine's work on the ground, the vision of Dr. James Gordon, bringing evidence-based healing practices to communities living through ongoing conflict. Most nights, air raid sirens sent us into bunkers — a stark reminder of the reality these communities face every day. Inside the workshops, the transformation was palpable — people finding moments of genuine relief and calm that, for many, had felt completely out of reach since the war began. This short documentary for CMBM's international program reminded me why I do this work: bearing witness and raising awareness is where I find a sense of service.
